KERRVILLE — The Exxon Five Points Market at 2303 Highway 16 North was robbed at gunpoint, at approximately 7:15 pm Wednesday evening, according to the Kerrville Police Department.
“The initial investigation revealed the suspect had entered the store and displayed a firearm. He demanded the clerk give him all the money in the register and then fled the scene,” said a KPD press release Thursday morning.
When the clerk initially called police, she advised that the suspect had just robbed the store at gunpoint and then fled the location, going westbound in a white Chevy truck.
“Kerrville Communications Dispatch immediately notified all adjacent law enforcement agencies of the incident,” said the release.
The suspect was located in Kimble county a short time later by a Kimble County Sheriff’s Deputy.
The release states, “Upon the Deputy approaching the suspect vehicle, he heard a gunshot from inside the vehicle.”
“The robbery suspect had a single gunshot wound and was declared deceased at the scene.”
The aggravated robbery case is currently under investigation by the Kerrville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.
The death investigation of the suspect is being handled by the Kimble County Sheriff’s Office.
